In compliance with DepEd Memorandum No. 42, s. 2025 with the theme “Sama-sama Para sa Bayang Bumabasa,” Tambo Elementary School – Main proudly conducted its Brigada Eskwela 2025 as a celebration of unity, volunteerism and shared responsibility in preparing for the upcoming school year.

The week-long activity officially kicked off with a vibrant parade around the community. Teachers, Non-Teaching Personnel (NTPs), parents, and stakeholders eagerly joined the parade, led by the ever dedicated and hardworking Principal, Ma’am Apple Soriano. Following the parade, a short yet meaningful opening program was held at the school grounds.

During the program, the school received generous donations from local officials. Hon. Councilor Marvin Santos donated 560 pax of learning kits for Grades 4 to 6 learners and provided paint materials for school beautification. Hon. Jenny Quizon, Barangay Captain of Tambo, also extended support by donating Brigada Eskwela T-shirts, cleaning materials, painting supplies, and drinking water for the volunteers. Adding to this generosity, McDonald’s shared 20 packs of 1-piece chicken meals for the Non-Teaching Personnel.

Significantly, the Bureau of Plant Industry also donated assorted plants and trees in support of the school’s Tree Planting initiative and the Gulayan sa Paaralan program, emphasizing the importance of environmental sustainability alongside school readiness.

After the program, all participants teachers, parents, NTPs, and stakeholders proceeded to their assigned areas to begin various cleaning, painting, and minor repair activities throughout the school. Alongside these tasks, the school also started its daily health assessment for incoming enrollees to ensure the health and safety of all learners during enrollment. Another significant activity was the Reading Session and Storytelling led by volunteer teachers, attended by selected learners, promoting literacy and encouraging a love for reading among learners.

On the second day, the school continued its activities with the conduct of an Anti-Bullying Session facilitated by Master Teacher Ma’am Ruth T. Aguilar. With the theme “Say No to Bullying,” this session was attended by teachers, learners, parents, NTPs, and stakeholders, fostering awareness on bullying prevention and promoting kindness and respect within the school community.

Despite the weather, the day remained productive. Grand West Side Hotel donated cleaning and painting supplies and sent volunteers who helped clean and repaint three classrooms in the Golez Building. More stakeholders like BDO, Hon. Rina Gabriel, and Krista Refilling Water Station also contributed by donating paints, notebooks, and purified drinking water. Cleaning, repairs, and beautification works continued, with teachers again holding a Reading and Storytelling Session that delighted selected learners. Health assessments also proceeded alongside the day’s activities.

On the fourth day, even though it was a declared holiday, the school’s Bayanihan spirit remained alive. Several teachers and NTPs still reported to school voluntarily to continue the unfinished cleaning and organizing tasks. Their dedication and willingness to serve even on a holiday demonstrated their deep commitment to the school and its learners.

Finally, the fifth day marked the Closing Ceremony of Brigada Eskwela 2025, coinciding with the General Assembly for Parents and Stakeholders in preparation for the upcoming Balik-Eskwela. During the assembly, the school discussed important reminders, upcoming activities, and plans for the school year.

Once again, Hon. Councilor Marvin Santos extended his generosity by providing snacks and grocery packs for parents who wholeheartedly volunteered throughout the Brigada Eskwela week. The school, in turn, expressed its sincere gratitude to all volunteers and donors through certificates of appreciation and simple tokens. Teachers also facilitated the final Reading and Storytelling Session of the week, inspiring students to continue their love for reading. Daily health assessments for enrollees also continued alongside the closing activities.

Throughout the week, Brigada Eskwela 2025 at Tambo Elementary School – Main was filled with dedication, cooperation, and the true spirit of volunteerism. It was more than just cleaning and repairing; it was about creating a safe, welcoming, and inspiring environment for all learners. With every book read, and every helping hand extended, the school community came together under the shared goal of ensuring that every child has a safe and nurturing space to learn and grow. “Sa Brigada Eskwela ng Tambo, Bata ang Panalo!”

Indeed, with the theme “Sama-sama Para sa Bayang Bumabasa,” the school stands ready for the new school year renewed, strengthened, and filled with hope for every learner.
